

Dorothy was born on May 12, 1924 in Brookings, South Dakota, to proud parents Harry and Jennie Green. Dorothy grew up in Brookings working the farm, and working with her parents at the H & J Café they owned.
Dorothy and her parents later moved to Storm Lake, Iowa where she worked at Commercial Bank until her marriage to Robert C Anderson on September 4, 1955.
Dorothy and Bob moved to Derby (now Commerce City) Colorado in 1955, where she worked at Peoples Bank until the birth of her first child, Rebecca Colleen. Dorothy and Bob then moved to Aurora, Colorado. Dorothy became a stay at home mom, and had 2 more children, Robert Lynn and Karen Kay.
After the children were all old enough to be in school, Dorothy worked for Aurora Public Schools at Wheeling Elementary for a few years. Dorothy later changed jobs and worked for the U.S. Government Civil Service.
The family then moved to Bennett, Colorado in 1978, where the horses, many pets, baking, cooking, record keeping, crocheting and so much more filled Dorothy’s days with purpose and joy.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her Mother, Jennie Ann (Greenley) Green, her Father, Harry Fredrick Green, and her Husband, Robert Coulson Anderson.
Dorothy is survived by her three children, Rebecca Colleen (Anderson) Johnson, Robert Lynn Anderson, and Karen Kay (Anderson) Bolton, and Son In Law, Lanny Ray Bolton.
Dorothy has three Grandchildren and their Spouses, Robert William Johnson and Alicia (Casaceli) Johnson, Mitch Ray Bolton and Kelley Kjellmark, Myshell Rae Bolton and Ray Padilla. Dorothy also has two Great Grandchildren, Payton Rae Padilla, and Lane Ray Bolton.
Dorothy loved her family with everything she had. She loved the dogs Sadie, Bo and Missy dearly, and definitely had a special place in her heart for the horses Harry Fredrick and Jennie Ann.
Dorothy always had a big heart, and made sure everyone had what they needed and never complained, even when she had the right to and should have.
Dorothy passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 with her family lovingly by her side.
