Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie and daughter Pamela. Gilbert is survived by his two daughter's Teresa and Brenda, both residing in Aurora, Colorado. Also survived by Dale Spies, Son in Law to the late Pamela Fowler-Spies. In Aurora are three grandsons, nine grandchildren in all.
Gilbert was a WWII veteran, serving on the hospital ship U.S.Samaritan for our beloved United States Navy. Gilbert went on to work for the Rocky Mountain News as a independent distributor for 25 years.
We will miss him greatly and the stories he told of growing up, being in the Navy and everyday life.
