She graduated from Aurora Central High School in 1958. On June 8th of 1958 she married her beloved husband, Morris W. Sanders. Together they were blessed with two loving children. She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed dearly.
She was extremely gifted and artistic. She loved to sew and do all kinds of crafts, such as embroidery, floral designing, drawing, and even had a cake decorating business for several years. She loved to volunteer at The Santa Claus Workshop, where Joyce won four blue ribbons and one second place ribbon for a Doll Restoration event sponsored by Aurora Parks and Recreation, countless projects and opportunities for her church and as Room Mother for her children’s classrooms for various party occasions or field trips. All of the kids loved it when it was her turn to be Room Mother! It meant lots of delicious treats and a real fun time for everyone! She worked as a church secretary and as a secretary for Vari-L, a technology business. She also took care of children from time to time. Joyce loved to decorate her home for all seasons and every holiday. It brought her joy and created wonderful memories! And boy, could she cook! There was nothing she couldn’t make and everything was just delicious! She loved music and musical plays. Joyce always enjoyed attending any musical production, whether it was at the High School or any of the local performing arts theaters. She also loved animals of all kinds and loved to work in her garden, particularly her prized roses.
Joyce is survived by her son, Tim Sanders of Aurora CO and her daughter, Tammy Sanders (Bobby Parish) of Brighton CO. Also, her sister, Sharon Spurgin and nephew, Shawn Stein of Lakewood CO; nephew, Richard Stein of Marysville, WA and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris, and her parents, Sanford and Ethel and two brothers, Sanford and Gerald.
