Luanna Marie Strait

Luanna Marie (Patterson) Strait, age 81, died on Friday, March 24, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 17, 1935 in Wahoo, Nebraska to James Earl and Lucille Pearl (Holmes) Patterson. She moved to Aurora, CO with her family in 1942 and graduated from Aurora High School in 1953. After attending Ottawa University in Ottawa, KS for two years, Luanna received a BA degree in Secretarial Science from Western State College (now Western State University of Colorado) in Gunnison, CO in 1958. Following her graduation, Luanna was employed as a Secretary and later Executive Legal Secretary at Financial Programs, Inc. located in Denver, CO for 12 years. Luanna terminated her employment to marry Glen D. Strait, State Farm Insurance Agent, on June 6, 1970.

Luanna was predeceased in death by her parents and her brothers, Robert, Jack, Paul and Lewis Patterson. Luanna loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family. She and Glen enjoyed many wonderful travels, as well as with the family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years and her twin sons, Kevin Strait (Tami) of San Antonio, TX and Kirk Strait of Las Vegas, NV along with her step children, Glenda James (Don) of Franktown, CO, Philip Strait (Charlie-Marie) of Denver, CO, Rhonda Davis of Aurora, CO and Rob Strait of Colorado Springs, CO. In addition, she had 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
