

CSM RAYMOND BASSETT HANSEN Ret age 91 passed away Dec 17,2013. He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Dec 6,1996 and one brother. He is survived by one daughter, two sons, 3 grandchildren, great grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. He was born and raised and worked on a farm in Bricelyn Minnesota. Raymond served in the army for 26 yrs, during WWII he was in the 12TH armored Div 92 Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadren [ Mechanized ] in Europe where at what came to be the ending of the war they were stripped of any insignias and where known as the mystery Div. so the germans couldn't track them. they where under the command of Gen. G. Patton and they sweeped through Europe and took many towns freed many prisoners and took Nazi prisoners in the thousands. After the war he RE uped and served as a Constabulary, and recuiter in Denver. Then went to the Korean war and after Korea served at many posts in the US, was stationed near Stuttgart Germany for about 5yrs ,Ft Huachuca, Az. Okinawa and Ft Lewis, Wash, in the HHD 1st Sig Gp Stratcom. He retired in 1969 moved to Colorado and worked for the USPS and started farming again "haying" and cutting lawns at big apt. complexes Continued haying till 2007. He also volunteered at the stock show for almost 20yrs, also long time member of the Lions club. He was a Mason since the early 1960s he was a 32nd deg. , also a member of the Shriners, and VFW. Eyesight and health issues and strokes slowed him down from 2008 on. Services will be held on Dec.30,2013 at 11:00 viewing at 9:00 am ,at Advantage Aurora Chase Funeral home. Burial at Ft Logan National Cemetary at 1:15 with full Military honors and Bagpipes.
