Vickie was one of three children and is survived by her brother, Patrick Waller. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Waller.
Vickie was a devoted mother and grandmother whose family was the center of her life. She had three children: Trena Carr and Jamie Carr, who preceded her in death, and Jodi Floyd (Carr), who survived her.
She was also the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Super Grandma,”
Vickie played an active role in raising many of them and was a constant source of love, strength, and support in their lives. She is survived by her grandson, Troy Carr, who she raised as her own son and whose life was forever shaped by her love, guidance, and devotion.
Vickie was married to the love of her life, Richard Carr, until his passing on March 13, 2008.
For more than 30 years, Vickie worked at Denny’s, where she served as a server, supervisor, trainer, and occasionally a manager. She became a familiar and beloved face to countless customers who returned repeatedly just to see her. To many, she was more than a waitress—she was a friend, a listening ear, and someone who made people feel welcome.
Vickie will also be fondly remembered for her love of cooking. Whether it was a barbecue, family gathering, wedding, or special celebration, she was never without a dish that quickly became everyone’s favorite. Preparing and sharing meals was one of the many ways Vickie expressed her love, bringing people together and creating moments that will be cherished for years to come.
Above all, Vickie will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her strong work ethic, her warm sense of humor, and the kindness and love she shared so generously with others. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
