With broken hearts, we share that our beautiful daughter Alison passed away on Sunday January 18 at the tender age of 26. Alison was a bright and beautiful light in our lives and the lives of everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.
Born on April 9, 1999, Alison brought light, compassion, love and so much laughter into everything she did and into the lives of everyone she touched. She will be remembered for the biggest smile and sparkling eyes and sense of humour that lit up every room she walked into. She grew up playing hockey with the Aurora Panthers accumulating some of the most wonderful friends.
Alison attended Regency Acres and Williams High School where she touched many lives with her bright spirit and friendship. She went on to attend Laurier University where she met some of the most wonderful young women and matured into the most incredible young woman.
She loved snowboarding and recently took up running; a love hate relationship she shared with her brother and completed her first half-marathon in May 2025. She had a strong love of music that grew and evolved over her life and some of her happiest moments were spent attending concerts.
She recently became passionate about F1 racing which she shared with her dad and was team McLaren cheering Lando Norris on at every race.
She loved spending time with family and friends, reading and creating beautiful meals.
Alison is lovingly remembered by her parents, John and Jeanne, brother Greg and sister-in-law Allie, aunts, uncles, cousins and a wide circle of friends whose lives are forever better because of her. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Jack and Ada Martin and Erwin and Ernestine Miller.
We invite all who loved Alison to join us as we celebrate her life, her legacy and the love that will continue to carry her forward in our hearts. The Celebration of Life to honour Alison will take place on Friday January 30th from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, with a memorial service taking place at 2:30 pm at King’s Riding Golf Club, 14700 Bathurst Street, King City. This gathering will be an opportunity to come together to share memories, stories and celebrate the joy she brought into our lives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada in memory of Alison Martin.
