March 22nd 2016, would have been Jim's 54th Birthday.  I miss him  everyday and am truly thankful for all we shared ....

I first met Jim many years ago when our families moved to Satchell Boulevard in West Hill. My sisters and I were attending Notre Dame High School and Jim and his brothers were at Neil McNeil. I remember he was super-thin and super-fast in our road hockey games and that he was always happy, always smiling. I read the news about Jim's passing in The Catholic Register (thank you Bob Brehl). My prayers to Jim's wife and daughter, and also his brothers Bill and Tom. My mother, Miriam, also sends her condolences. Rest in perfect, sweet peace, Jim.

I am certain many others have already expressed how excellent the Memorial was.  The venue, music, video, and refreshments with all those wonderful people was incredible. 

After seeing everyone I could likely now fill this guest book with memories and stories...  Jim and I were classmates; euchre partners; dance partners; each others designated driver, alibi & witness; life-long friends.  Almost like another brother.  Yesterday you made me feel like family.

During the many years we have known Jim, Debbie and Elizabeth, as neigbours and friends, Jim has shown us that he has a kind and gentle soul, with a positive attitude.  Jim, we will always remember you for your goodness you have shared with us.  We will miss you. Rest in Peace.

I wish I could be with you today to celebrate Jim's life.  He was quick with his smile, embracing hug and invite to join him in the pool or sauna.  My love and prayers go out to you today Debbie and Elizabeth.  He will be missed on the street but never forgotten in our harts.

I will always remember Jim as a kind and gentle man who brought joy to his loving wife and beautiful daughter. In that alone he was a successful man. He will be deeply missed by all. Sleep peacefully and painless my dear.

My thoughts and prayers are with. Hope you are all holding up OK.

We have lived a couple of doors down from Jim, Deb and Elizabeth for over 13 years. Within two weeks of living on Walton Drive, we were invited into their home. Over the years we have become good friends/family with the Whytes and could not have been more blessed to have known Mr. Jimmy. A kind, positive and caring soul, Jim was truly one of a kind and will remain in my heart for the rest of my life. I will miss my smoking buddy everyday. Keep smiling big guy and know that we will always be here to help out your wonderful family!

Jim and I saw 10 Rolling Stones shows together over the years and one of his favourite songs was "You Can't Always Get What You Want".  He often quoted the line "but if you try sometime, you get what you need". Jim made a point to say the importance of the line was not getting what you need...but instead that you had to TRY!  Jim has a wise soul and he enriched my life immeasurably. I understand that he is free now and that his spirit continues to soar.  Despite knowing this, I am very sad because there will be no more "standing in line with Mr. Jimmy".  Join the Angels my friend.

Jim was perhaps 16 when I first met him and was always the younger brother I wished I had. Something people didn't see was his amazing ability to interact with my sister with Down Syndrome, even as a teenager. His pride in his wife Debby and daughter Elizabeth was so admirable. I choose to think of Jim now, up above, saying something like "Hey you get off of my cloud"

Our deepest sympathy on Jim's passing. He was , most definitely, a unique person in so many ways; intuitive and wise,hospitable and giving, connected and focussed and always interested and present to the other. His courageous struggle , over so many years, certainly displayed that the essential thing , in life, is not conquering but fighting well; that courage is the ladder on which all the other virtues mount. When a good and decent man like Jim takes a stand the spines of others are surely stiffened. Thank you Jim for the gift of your life and for strengthening society simply by being the kind of person you were.

Whenever I spent time with my brother, I always remember his postiveness, and deep appreciation for his family and all his friends.  He rarely complained about the health challenges he continously faced.  We enjoyed our time chatting at the local pub.  Rest in Peace Jim, you will always be in all of our thoughts.

May Jim's strength carry on within each of us. Our family has known Jim for 20 years and in those years we watched and admired how Jim would face life's most difficult challenges with a smile and reassuring confidence. Such a strong and respected man, he taught us much about what life is really about. Jon, Kim, Alex and Brady.

 I met Jim 40 years ago on the first day of high school. The morning he died, I awoke with a painful headache in the back part of my head.
I had never had a headache there. I told my wife this and she suggested doing these head rolls to ease the pain. I made a mute effort but gave up on the head rolls.
I was sitting at my desk typing away and my head was still hurting.
Then Debbie called with the news and I spoke with her for about 10 minutes.
I hung up, with a few tears in my eyes, but I noticed my head was no longer  hurting. The pain was gone.
All Jim's difficulties began 27 years ago with a tumor on his pituitary gland in his head.
Was my pain somehow a signal from him and the easing of the pain telling me he's okay now? Don't know, but there you have it. There is way more going on in this world than meets the eye. RIP my friend, you are missed.
