Jane passed away peacefully on Friday January 3, 2025 surrounded by family at Southlake Regional Health Centre after a 3+ year battle with cancer. She is survived by Tom, her devoted husband of 47 years, their four children, T.J. (Sarah), Jenny (Steve), Lindsay (Nick), and Kaitlyn (Andre) and seven amazing grandchildren, Kinsley, Riley, Ben, Mila, Sophie, Jack, and Ellie.
Jane was the daughter of the late Shirley (nee Hoyle) and Robert Snetsinger. She was sister to Anne (Peter), Jimmy (Sandi), Al (Janice) and Teddy (Pam), and the late Susan. She was aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Jane was a force who lived life fully. She was a natural born leader – both in her career and family life. She started her career in 1973 at A.C. Nielsen, eventually retiring from the successor company, BBM, nearly 50 years later as an Executive Vice-President. She demonstrated to her children what women can achieve in the workplace.
She was endlessly kind and generous, and was immensely proud and protective of both her immediate and extended family. Often referred to as the glue of the family, she ensured that her extended family (her siblings and all the cousins) remained close through regular family gatherings at the lake and holiday get-togethers. She loved preparing big Sunday dinners and holiday meals for family, there was always enough food to feed an army.
Jane was a devoted Blue Jays fan. She enjoyed listening to oldies and playing euchre with friends and family, and giving her grandchildren copious amounts of treats and gifts. She will be remembered as an accomplished business woman with a kind and generous heart, and as a loving mother who always put her family first. She brought her caring nature to everything she did.
Those who knew Jane understand how large this loss is for all who survive her.
