With profound sadness, we announce the passing of June (June-Bug) Marilyn Mayhew Perrin (Edwards), at the age of 89. Born on May 10, 1935, in Kingston, Ontario to Leta Mary Mitchell and Henry Blake Edwards (both deceased) she was the only child. June, a fun and loving mother will be deeply missed by her three children: Scott (Colleen), Michelle (Patrick) and Andrea. She was affectionately known as “Gramma” to Ashley (Kyle), Heather (Jay), Kayla (Jon) and Brydon (Megan). Great Grandma June will also be missed by her “little fellas”, Gavin, Quincy, Marlon, Felix, Crosby and Bowie.
As well as dedicating her life to raising her family, June worked at Victoria and Grey Trust Company in Richmond Hill. While juggling the family, a lovely home and garden, she also managed to organize us all to head to the cottage just outside of Minden, Ontario most weekends and every summer.
June was a great friend, neighbour, co-worker, wife and mom but as busy as she was, always had time to invite you in for a cup of tea.
June will be remembered by friends and family as a smart, independent woman with a love of adventure and a zest for life. She loved to travel and had friends from all around the world. Enjoying cruises but also other destinations, including Alaska, Asia, Switzerland, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain but where she felt most at home was in Victoria, British Columbia where she opened her own Bed and Breakfast – The Blue Castle.
Please join us in remembering June’s love, laughter, and humour as our Angel now has her wings.
Memorial donations in honour of June Mayhew can be made to Alzheimer Society, https://alzheimer.ca.
