The family of Lisa Arlene Hagan Yielding is deeply saddened to announce her passing, due to heart failure, on the morning of Dec.2, 2025 following a short illness. Family members were able to gather round and say their goodbyes as she peacefully departed this world.
Lisa was born on May 11, 1964, a beautiful baby, and the third of four children to Jeannette (Vautier) and Foster Hagan. A spirited and lively girl, she excelled at all she tried. She was known as a gifted athlete and found joy in school, music, swimming, and sports, with a special passion for figure skating. She was a proud member of the Thornhill Figure Skating Club's Precision Skating Team, where she delighted in competing at events near and far. She had a natural ear for languages and music, enjoying many a time singing with her brothers’ band or on karaoke.
Over the years Lisa has struggled with mental and physical issues. In the words of the song, Lisa did it “My Way” (Paul Anka). The passing of her beloved father, Foster, in 2017 was an unbearable loss. He had always tenderly called her his “little darling”, and his absence weighed heavily on her heart. This grief was deepened by the tragic, accidental loss of her son Kristopher, a sorrow beyond words. In the years that followed, Lisa grew more private, often seeking solace in solitude as she carried these losses deeply in her heart.
During her final years, Lisa remained in constant communication with her children and family due to social media, always energized by their latest news. She continued to find enjoyment in the world of fashion and entertainment, and her keen interest in politics and the world around her made her an interesting conversationalist.
Left to grieve are her mother Jeannette, her children Stephen, Michael, David, Carly, Kaitlyn, Olivia, and Sydney, her grandchildren, Liam, Addison, Kingston, Gwyneth, Lennox, Kyler, Harley, Ella, and Kayla, her brothers, Philip (Janice), Gregory (Janice) and her sister Michelle (John).
Special thanks go out to Douglas Yielding, Philip Chamney, and Foster and Jeannette Hagan, David and Helen Yielding, and Dilys and Bruce Chamney for their special role as involved fathers and grandparents who played such an important role in the raising of Lisa’s children. With the love and support also of their aunts and uncles they have grown into fine, loving and capable adults.
Even after her death, her beautiful green eyes were donated to the Trillium Gift of Life (https://www.giftoflife.on.ca/) and a piece of Lisa will still be benefiting others.
Foster has now welcomed his “little darling” into heaven and she is resting in peace with the Lord.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (https://camh.ca/), or The Heart and Stroke Foundation (https://www.heartandstroke.ca/).
A Celebration of Life will be held at Thompson Funeral Home, located at 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON, L4G 6W8 on December 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
