

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michele Marie Butt. Michele passed peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, following a lengthy battle with cancer on Saturday, February 21, 2026. She was 62 years old.
Michele was born on September 17, 1963, in Bracebridge, Ontario. She is survived by her adoring and devoted husband of 42 years, Kelly Butt. Lovingly remembered by her brother Greg (Tracey), Kelly’s brothers, Terry (Catherine), Graydon, Darren (Mary), and his sister Maureen. She will be greatly missed by her best friend and “adopted father” Dennis Moat. Michele was predeceased by her parents, Ronald and Donna Atkinson, her brother Michael, stepfather Ian Brooks, and her parents-in-law, Rudge and Gwen Butt. Survived by nephews and nieces.
Michele graduated from Gravenhurst High School and went on to live in Invermere, B.C., Norman Wells, NWT, and finally settled in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She worked for Imperial Oil in NWT and eventually transferred to their offices in Toronto, working in corporate travel. She later retired as a sales manager for Ingenia Polymers.
Michele loved and excelled at organizing family gatherings at the cottage on Muskoka Lake. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed feeding her family during special occasions. Her exceptional planning and organization skills assisted business colleagues from Florida to Miramichi.

Cremation will take place. No funeral services are planned at this time.
