With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Rita Linda Wegner Moore, aged 61, on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Rita transitioned surrounded by love, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Rita was the beloved wife of Murray Moore, a union that thrived for over 45 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. She was the devoted mother of Taylor Moore, who brought immense joy and pride to her life alongside his wife Jessica. Rita is survived by her loving mother, Helene Wegner (father Hermann Wegner, deceased), her sisters Angela Grimsey (Bruce) and Debra Jolivet (Randy), her mother-in-law Marina Moore (Michael), and a large extended family of 5 nieces, 5 nephews, 3 sister-in-laws, and 5 brother-in-laws who adored her deeply.
Born on May 4, 1962, in North York, Rita's journey was marked by her passion for art and theatre, graduating with honours from Northview Collegiate. Her career in the graphics industry was illustrious, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication.
Rita's presence illuminated every room she entered, her contagious smile a beacon of warmth and positivity. She was renowned for her spirituality, her boundless kindness, and her unwavering friendships. An avid swimmer, water skier, and golfer. Rita found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially in cooking, entertaining her loved ones, and engaging in games of backgammon and scrabble.
Summers at Wagner Lake held a special place in Rita's heart, where she reveled in the company of family and friends, gathering around campfires, singing songs, and sharing laughter. Her musical talents, expressed through the harmonica, rain sticks, maracas, and tambourine, added melody to the memories created by the lake.
Rita's legacy of love and laughter will endure, forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her.
A visitation for Rita will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8 followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM. A reception following service Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Family Home, 86 Banner Lane, King City, Ontario L7B 1G6. Street parking is available.
