Robert James Robinson

Bob was born near London Ontario on March 26, 1935 son of Irving and Dorothy Robinson. Bob was one of nine siblings and is survived by brother Rick and sisters Pat and Joanne and predeceased by brothers Albert, Doug and John and sisters Ruth and Lyl. Bob has multiple nieces and nephews who have extended families. Bob is survived by his wife Kathleen and his son Mike, his wife Cindi and their children Thomas and Stuart and his daughter Carol, her husband John and their children Jade, Jack and Arron.

Bob was a mechanic and armory technician in the RCAF based in Resolute Bay from 1953 to 1955 and joined the Salvation Army in 1956.

He met Kathleen while Roller skating in April 1958 and they were married on November 22, 1958. Mike was born in Sept 1959, they moved to England in 1960 and Carol was born in August 1963.

Bob joined the Birmingham Fire Brigade in 1962 and worked his way through the ranks, obtaining an Open University degree on the way, to retire as Senior Divisional Commander of the Dorset Fire Brigade in 1988.

Bob and Kathleen moved back to Canada in 2000 to be near Mike and Carol and their families, living in Toronto, Wasaga Beach and Aurora.

Bob passed away peacefully after battling multiple health challenges on May 30, 2022 surrounded by his family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora. A livestream of the service can be viewed by selecting view livestream under the service details.
