Shirley will be deeply missed by her loving husband, of almost 52 yrs., George, and her loving children Violet and Emma. Cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren; Byron and Rose Keast, Adrianna Gater, Adaine Wiedemeyer, Bella Ristucci, and Damian. Lovingly remembered by her sister Karen Robinson and nephew Eric Rautenberg (Stacey) and her brother John Robinson (Susan) and nieces Kayla and Kelly (Maxime). Predeceased by her parents Grace and William Robinson. Shirley will be deeply missed by her aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends here on earth and she has joyfully joined some of them in heaven.
The eldest of 3 children, Shirley was born on September 15, 1947, in Toronto, Ontario to her loving parents, Grace Scobie Robinson of Rosetown, SK. and William George Robinson of Toronto, ON. Shirley attended high school at Northern Secondary School, followed by Teacher’s College in Toronto, where she met her husband George, also a teacher at Uxbridge Public School. George and Shirley were married in 1970 in Toronto before moving to Leaksdale, ON. They were blessed with two daughters, Violet Marie and Emma Lynne. The children were raised in their treasured family home in Aurora, ON.
Shirley’s uplifting and sunny nature made her a joy to spend time with. She was a proponent of spreading love and kindness, she believed in the power of positivity and giving back to the community. She spent most of her career as an elementary school teacher at Ballantrae Public School, where she taught for over 30 years. Shirley was passionate about health, wellness, and nutrition, which she and George shared with others for over 35 years through their Shaklee business and selling organic produce from their garden. Shirley felt so fortunate to be able to work alongside her husband George at school, in their home business, and in their beautiful garden — leaving such a positive impact on countless lives.
A special thank you to the staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre (Palliative Care / Cancer) for your patience and wonderful care of Shirley in her last days.
Please consider a donation in Shirley’s memory to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides or The Red Cross.
