Her love of travelling, animals, and friendships were evident. She would share stories of her many adventures across the world. Cats always seemed to be in pairs and a dog could be found sleeping somewhere on a couch. She was always willing to host a party, even if it was just a card game for Alex and his friends. Her charcutière boards and over the top seasonal decorations are stilled marveled to this day.
Born on July 31, 1947 in Toronto, Susan was adopted by George Kenneth Bell and Marion “Molly” Bell. She is survived by her sister Karen.
Susan found her soulmate in her beloved husband, Alexander Amon, and embraced motherhood by adopting her two wonderful sons, Matthew and Blake. Together they created many cherished memories travelling across Canada, spending summers at the cottage, and enjoying winters by skiing and skating. She was always up for an adventure with her three guys.
Beyond being a devoted mother and wife, Susan had a fulfilling career as a schoolteacher in Toronto and New Brunswick, making lasting friendships and memories the often recalled throughout the years.
She shared a close bond with her sisters-in-law, and they could often be found shopping or chatting over lunch. They were much more than in-laws, they were sisters.
Susan spent 7 wonderful years living at Sunrise of Aurora where she met many great friends. She filled her days with art and music classes, watching movies and talking to everyone that stopped to say hello. She never forgot a voice or a name. The family is deeply grateful to all the staff for the love and support given to Susan.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an impeccable sense of style—especially her beloved hats, shorts in a snowstorm, and many accessories. Her sense of humor, warm laugh, and fashion flair will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
