Theresa Bready Zawadzki

December 17, 1938 – March 13, 2013

Theresa Zawadzki passed away peacefully in her 75th year on March 13th, 2013. Theresa was the dearly loved wife of the late Leon Zawadzki, loving mother of Anne and Liza, and proud grandmother of Emily and Cameron. She will be sadly missed by her son-in-law David, brother James, sisters Jean and Anne Marie, and their families. She will also be greatly missed by her many friends and extended family.

Theresa touched many lives in her career as a dedicated teacher and later in her career as a Vice Principal of Our Lady of Grace school. She was passionate about education and excelled in helping children with learning difficulties.

Theresa spent many years camping and hiking up north with her husband and two girls. Although she was a “city girl”, she enjoyed the outdoors and she always said, “Leon did all the hard work”, she was happy sitting on a warm rock reading a good book, listening to the river and enjoying the beauty that surrounded her. She loved simple things, she valued good friends, loved going to the movies, traveling, singing, dancing and laughing. Most of all she loved learning new things, she loved the challenge of a difficult project and spending time with family and true friends was considered a perfect day.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hollandview Trail Retirement home for their kind and caring attention to Theresa’s needs during her stay. Hailey, Marilyn, Joy, Ann, Marianne, Venus, Svetlana, Monica, Crystal, Nicole, Philomena, Margie, Donna, Eloisa and Evelyn, you were a gift to our mom.

The visitation will be held at the Thompson Funeral Home at 530 Industrial Parkway South in Aurora (905-727-5421) on Friday March 15th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.

The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church at 15347 Yonge Street in Aurora on Saturday March 16th at 11:00 AM.
