It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Victor Kalashnik, 70, of Aurora. Victor unexpectedly passed away at home on Saturday October 19th 2024. Born on September 25th 1954 in Toronto, Victor, son of Tatiana & Ivan, was born into a hardworking Ukrainian family.
In his younger years, Victor enjoyed snowball fights and sledding down their street with friends and his older brother Serge. He loved sports and especially loved playing football, and golf in his later years. After graduating from Runnymede Collegiate, and later on York University, he went on to pursue several different fields. Starting as a bank administration officer, then working in insurance, to opening a restaurant called Peppers Deli and finally settling in to sales. His gift of gab, and his love for meeting new people served him well in business and his personal life; Allowing him to easily make lifelong friends , in unexpected ways and places.
Victor was an incredible and loving husband to Marie, an encouraging, fun and caring father to Adam and Christina. Proud younger brother to Serge Kalashnik, his wife Sandy and silly uncle to Karen Goodwillie and her husband John, as well adoring great uncle to little Owen.
Friend too many, once you met Victor he was impossible to forget, his happy, outgoing, larger than life personality stayed with you long after he had left the room. Whether it was buying the biggest super soaker to play with the kids in the neighbourhood, or building a half pipe for his son and his friends to have a place to skateboard, Victor always wanted everyone he knew, happy and smiling.
There are no words to express the magnitude of our loss and the depth of our grief, he will be forever missed.
A visitation for Victor will be held Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora, ON L4G 6W8.
