Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Allen was the son of Jenny and Louis Miller. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion Miller, with whom he shared a devoted marriage beginning on November 22, 1964. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Miller, and his parents.
Allen proudly served in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After his military service, he continued contributing to the public good as a computer programmer for the State of Texas. He retired from both careers with honor and a legacy of dedication.
Allen was a truly eccentric and joyful soul. Known for walking and singing every day, he brought a sense of wonder and lightness wherever he went. He loved people — not just being around them, but truly knowing them. He was endlessly curious about others’ stories, backgrounds, and lives, always ready to strike up a conversation. His positivity, warmth, and vibrant personality made him unforgettable.
He also had a lifelong passion for art, creating thousands upon thousands of what he called “doodle drawings” — intricate works that captured his unique perspective and creativity.
Allen is survived by his two sons, Robert Miller and Stephen Miller, who will carry forward his spirit, humor, and love for life.
A funeral service will be held on July 13, 2025 at 9:30 am at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, where Allen will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Marion.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes your stories and memories of Allen as a way to celebrate the remarkable life he lived.
