

Ada E. (Grosskopf) Gorham, 97, of Austin, formerly of Granite Shoals, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2005. A Pfluger descendent, Ada was born in Travis County on September 23, 1907. She lived in Pflugerville until attending the Brackenridge School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Brackenridge Hospital. While raising three children she handled the insurance in her husbands real estate business, but eventually returned to nursing and retired from St. Davids Hospital in 1970. She and her husband lived on Lake LBJ and enjoyed fishing and traveling in their travel trailer. Ada loved the Lord and was an active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Marble Falls, Texas. Ada was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert L. Gorham. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eugene Gorham and his wife, Alice; and her first grandchild, Gary Gorham, son of Robert and Mary Gorham. She is survived by a son, Robert L. Gorham, Jr. and wife Mary; a daughter, Judy Murdock and husband, Dewey, all of Austin; a granddaughter, Gwen Reinke and husband, Don of Moraga, California; a grandson, Clay Gorham and wife, Marilynne of Houston; a grandson, DuWayne Murdock, Jr. and wife, Jennifer of Cedar Park; a grandson, Jason Murdock and wife, Elizabeth of Pflugerville; and five great grandchildren: Bryan and James Reinke, Moraga, California; Blake Gorham, Roswell, Georgia; and Amanda and Colin Gorham, Houston, Texas. Visitation will be Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar, Austin and the funeral service will be held Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Marble Falls, Texas with internment to follow at Lakeland Hills Cemetery.
