

Agnes Dora Henke Lundstedt, loving wife, mother and grandma, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2009 at the age of 78. She was born on July 24th, 1930 in Gillespie County, Texas to Edwin and Olga Henke. Agnes graduated from Kerrville Tivy High School and earned an Associates degree from North Texas Agricultural College in Arlington in 1951. She then moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where she earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in home economics with a major in child development. She taught nursery school in Austin for many years. Agnes was a long time member of First English Lutheran Church in Austin where she met the love of her life, Albert Lundstedt at the front door. They married on April 11, 1953 and shared the next 55 years together. Spirituality has been an important and uplifting part of Agnes' life. She served as meditation leader and was an active member of the Ananda spiritual community. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and sister Caroline Henke. She is survived by sister Margaret Henke of San Antonio, brother Werner Henke and his wife Lorene of Fredericksburg. She leaves behind her dear husband Albert Lundstedt, her daughter Carol Bockhorn and her husband Glen of Round Rock, her son David Lundstedt and his wife Julia Hilder of Austin, and three grandchildren; Derek Bockhorn, Brandi Berdoll, and Natalia Lundstedt. Agnes was a kind and gentle woman who loved her family, her friends, and looked for the good in everyone. Quite often she would break out in song and her love of life was infectious. Agnes had a special place in her heart for animals and rescued many cats and dogs throughout the years. Her beautiful smile and compassionate spirit will live in our hearts forever. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. Interment will follow at Capital Parks Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice Austin and Christopher House for their compassionate services and ask in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Agnes' memory to Hospice Austin or Animal Trustees of Austin.
