

As a young lady, Alda was very athletic. She played volleyball, baseball, and was a great swimmer. She had a beautiful singing voice where on occasion she sang live on KTBC radio. She graduated from Leander High School in 1950, and later graduated from Durham Business School. She had a passion for home décor, gardening, and a love for making floral arrangements. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Alda retired form State of Texas MHMR in 1992. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters: Nannie Ray, Joanne Ferguson, her brother Taylor, grandson Jalen, and her loving husband AJ.
Alda laid down her burdens on April 8, 2012 at 1:54pm. We all will mourn the loss.
Alda leaves to cherish her memories: four children, Melissa Ayala and her husband Raymond Ayala of Austin, TX, Mike Hamilton and his wife Trish Hamilton of Cedar Park, TX, Matt Hamilton and his wife Mecca Hamilton of Pflugerville, TX, Marian Hamilton of Austin, TX. Ten grandchildren; James Hamilton Jr, Ashleigh Hamilton, Keturah Colds, Amanda Leighann Ramon, Matthew Hamilton Jr, Jeffrey Jones, Desiree ‘ Hamilton, Tyler Hamilton, Morgan Melancon, and Kaila Hamilton. One great- granddaughter Laila Hamilton. One brother Bobby Ray of Buda , TX and one sister Edna of Austin, TX, along with a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial Services will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 12th of April 2012, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
