
Alfred Felix Estrello of San Antonio, Texas passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born on January 10, 1955, in San Antonio, Texas where he grew up. He graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and received a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Administration from Texas State University. He worked for the Austin Independent School District as a teacher, elementary assistant
principal, principal, and Director of Parental Involvement. He ended his career teaching in the School of Education at St. Edward’s University. He taught and supervised student teachers. He was actively involved in promoting and placing St. Edward’s student teachers into Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Austin. Fred’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was an outstanding father who taught his sons to love God, play sports, golf, hunt, cook, grill, and most importantly, to treat others as you wish to be treated. Fred was the uncle who always brought the entire extended family together through his love of cooking. He showed love to his family and relatives by cooking countless numbers of meals throughout his life. Nothing brought him more joy than to see several generations of relatives come together to enjoy his food.
He is preceded in death by his father, Felix Estrello, Maria Estrello Gonzales and Roland Estrello.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia McHale Estrello and sons, Daniel and Andrew Estrello, and daughter in law, Laura Miller Estrello.
The family would like to thank family members, friends, and the doctors and nurses at St. David’s South Medical Center for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral Mass service on Monday, September 18 at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the church hall.
