Devoted Wife, Faithful Servant, and Cherished Caregiver
1930 – 2025
Alice Marie Lambert, beloved wife, daughter, and friend to many, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and deep love for humanity.
Born to George Henry Miller and Clara Theresa Schmidt-Miller, Alice brought light and warmth into the world from the very beginning. Her early years were marked by a quiet strength, devotion to God, and an innate desire to nurture and care for others—qualities that would define the life she led.
In the early 1950s, Alice visited Austin, Texas, she instantly fell in love with Austin and the Mexican culture. She chose to make it her home, beginning one of the most joyful chapters of her life. During this time, she lived at the YWCA, a period she often referred to as the best time of her life—filled with dancing, friendship, and discovery.
It was in Austin that Alice met the love of her life, Ira Lambert, on a blind date. The two were married at the historic St. Mary’s Cathedral and went on to share an extraordinary 60 years of marriage, built on faith and unshakable devotion.
Before becoming a mother and homemaker, Alice attended UT and studied to become an X-Ray Technician. She worked at Seton Hospital, where she served with diligence and care. She was often called upon to comfort the ailing and dying patients. But it was her life outside of work that truly exemplified her spirit. A devout Catholic, she was deeply involved in her faith community and was a tireless volunteer for charitable causes, especially through St. Vincent de Paul.
Her heart belonged to the vulnerable, especially the poor, elderly and children. She adored babies, offered comfort to the aged, and opened her home and heart to anyone in need. Whether through charitable donations, a gentle touch, or a kind word, Alice gave selflessly and joyfully, embodying the very essence of Christian charity.
She loved dancing, laughter, and every good gift life had to offer. Her joy was contagious, her generosity boundless. She did not simply believe in love, she lived it, every single day. Her family was the center of her life, always being there as a mother, comforter and best friend.
Alice leaves behind a community forever changed by her kindness, her grace, and her unwavering belief in the good of others. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit endures in every life she touched.
May she rest in peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Ira "Bill" Lambert; her son, Christopher Lee Lambert; her mother, Clara Miller; father, George H. Miller; her brother, George H. Miller Jr.; and nephew, Hank Miller.
