Aline Harris

Aline was born in Robstown, Texas on February 8, 1929, and moved to Austin from Corpus Christi in 1955. Aline married Alfred Lloyd Harris on November 7, 1946, and had three daughters: Karen Vann, Cheryl Villanueva, and Brenda Hunt.

Aline’s career consisted of working as a PBX operator for Southwestern Bell, Brackenridge Hospital, and the Sheraton Crest Hotel (known now as the Radisson Hotel located on Lady Bird Lake). She was very passionate about helping people with disabilities, and went on to work for and retire from the Austin State School, having served there for 9 years.

Aline was preceded in death by her parents Clara Beck and Hermann Moehrig; her husband of twenty-three years, Alfred Lloyd Harris; seven siblings that included sisters, Viola Grossman, from Alice, Texas; Lorine Ross, from Austin, Texas; Mona Pitts from Harlingen, Texas; Bernice Snow from Poth, Texas; Mildred Huber from Dallas, Texas and brothers: Eugene Moehrig from California; and Bud Moehrig from Corpus Christi, Texas.

She is survived by her sister Ione Moehrig Crawford of Valley Mills, Texas; her three daughters, Karen Vann, Cheryl Villanueva, and Brenda Hunt. She is also survived by five Grandchildren - Thomas Bahney, Lonnie Crawford, Jr., Rick Villanueva, Renee Villanueva, and Easton Hunt; four Great-grandchildren - Caitlin La’Nelle; Chelsea Crawford, Brittany Crawford, and Aiden Crawford; three Great-great grandchildren – Kaitlan Villanueva, Jordan Villanueva, and Remy Villanueva-Haywood. Of those she is survived by, she also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
