In Loving Memory
August 2 1968 - December 24 2020
Mr. Angel Renteria, 52, of Del Valle, Texas
On the Eve of Christ’s birth, another Angel has joined his choir.
Our beloved Angel Renteria age 52, born August 2, 1968 was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday December 24, 2020. His best friend since the 8th grade and wife Cheryl of 20 years was at his side. He was a Dispatcher for Ceva Logistics for over 15 years. He is preceded in death by his father Joe Renteria, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. His survivors include his wife Cheryl Ojeda Renteria of Del Valle, sons Amador Renteria and fiancée Tracy Mendoza of Kyle, Angelo Renteria and wife Sara of Austin, and his only grandson Noah Renteria, his mother Pauline Renteria of Austin, TX, and two brothers, Adam Renteria and wife Michelle of Lockhart, Tx., and Anthony Renteria of Austin, TX. Angel has 8 nephews and nieces, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
While doctors and medicine helped Angel fight his cancer diagnosis since 2014, it was his positive attitude and spirit that made everyone around him wonder, “Is this man really sick?” When the unimaginable happened in 2018, and Cheryl was diagnosed with cancer also, one is left wondering how can such a generous and joyous couple get so un-lucky? Married for 20 years, but partners in life for nearly 35 years, it was that bond, love, partnership that carried them. Angel, to an extent put his battle secondary to take care of Cheryl and get her thru a year of chemo, surgery and radiation and on her last chemo treatment, he was standing proudly next to her to ring that bell with her! Both of them wishing, everyone wishing, he could ring it along with her.
Angel and Cheryl have raised two sons Amador and Angelo. Both have grown to make any parents proud and Angel beamed when he spoke of them. His grandson Noah was his pride and joy and even on tough days, Angel would force his body to play with Noah even for a little while, UT baseball games, walks and parks were his favorites.
Angel will most be remembered for his strong fighting spirit and his relentless positive attitude thru the toughest 6 years any man could live. But so many family and friends will also remember his generosity of time with his family, his responsibility of taking care of his mom after losing his father, his coaching the boys through Montopolis little league, his love for dancing, fishing and golf, and most of all, his smile. A smile that could stretch ear to ear and that most of us saw more often than not throughout his battle.
Rest now in peace and comfort in the arms of God in paradise until all who love you can be with you again.
