

Angelo Castillo “A.C.” Rodriguez went to be with his heavenly Lord on the third of March 2012. He was the eldest of six children and was born in Center Point, TX on the 18th of July 1936 to Herminia C. Rodriguez and Romaldo Rodriguez.
A.C. graduated from Austin High School in 1955 and was a resident of Austin for 75 years. He served in the National Guard from 1952 until 1955, and after graduating from high school, in 1956, he joined the Air Force. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, A.C. was an amateur boxer; he trained and boxed for Louie Munoz Gym. He worked for CB Smith Volkswagen Garage as a VW mechanic for many years and he retired from Boer German Auto Works in the mid 1990’s. A.C. was also a member of St. Mary Cathedral Church.
A.C. was preceded in death by his father, Romaldo S. Rodriguez.
He is survived by his mother, Herminia C. Rodriguez; sister, Mary Akers and husband, Monte; brothers, Carlos J Rodriguez and wife, Lupe, Romaldo Rodriguez Jr., Manuel Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriguez and wife, Mari, along with nine nieces, nine nephews and a host of grand nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are: Danny Alan Rodriguez, Jacob Montell Akers, Edward Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez Jr., Marcos David Rodriguez and Aaron Isaac Rodriguez.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening, on Wednesday, the seventh of March 2012, in the Colonial Chapel at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX. The Recitation of Rosary will begin at seven o’clock.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at half past nine in the morning on Thursday, the eighth of March 2012, at St. Mary Cathedral Church, 203 E. 10th Street, Austin, TX. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
