Anh P. Brown, a cherished mother, grandmother, artist, and fashion designer, passed away at 4:05 pm February 19, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with stage four lung and brain cancer. Born on November 14, 1952, in Saigon, Vietnam, Anh was the daughter of Anh Pham and Dai Nguyen, and the third oldest of 11 siblings. Her life was a beautiful tapestry of resilience, creativity, and devotion to family.
In 1972, Anh moved to San Antonio, Texas, to attend San Antonio College, living with her sister Yen and brother Loc. On January 12, 1974, she welcomed her beloved son, Linh Tu. Following the fall of Saigon in 1975, the rest of her family joined her in Texas, eventually settling together in Austin. There, they worked at Dunkin’ Donuts while building a new life. Anh’s determination led her to graduate from the University of Texas in 1982 with a degree in Fine Arts. She then pursued her passion for fashion design, relocating to Dallas to study at Mrs. Wade Fashion School. Anh enjoyed a successful career designing and overseeing the production of her own clothing line, blending her artistic vision with entrepreneurial spirit.
Anh’s creativity extended beyond fashion. She loved drawing, painting, and nurturing an array of hobbies—collecting succulents, beta fish, birds, and Christmas ornaments, as well as crafting stunning picture albums filled with cherished memories. Above all, her world revolved around her grandchildren—Drew, Maci, Asher, and Grayson—who were her everything. She treasured every moment spent with them, especially watching them play at the beach.
Diagnosed with stage four lung and brain cancer in November 2019, Anh faced her illness with extraordinary strength and grace for five remarkable years. During the last five years, she had an amazing angel by her side, Sandy Gustavo, who took care of her with unwavering love and dedication. When the time came, Anh left this world for a better place, surrounded by the love of her family.
Anh is survived by her son, Linh Tu, daughter in-law Faith Goldberg, her grandchildren Drew, Maci, Asher, and Grayson, and many of her siblings and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anh Pham, Dai Nguyen, and sister Hang Pham.
Anh P. Brown’s legacy lives on in the beauty she created, the family she adored, and the countless lives she touched with her warmth and talent. She will be deeply missed.
