

Louise grew up in Aline, Oklahoma along with her brother Bob Edwards and parents, Leon and Minnie Edwards. She was the Drum Major at Helena High School in Helena, Oklahoma.
In 1944 she met and married Chester Leroy Moddrell of Carmen, Oklahoma. Directly following the marriage, Leroy was dispatched to the European Theater of World War II. Mrs. Moddrell moved to Wichita, Kansas to work at the Boeing Aircraft Facility in support of the war effort. Following the war they lived in many places including Guam; Biloxi, Mississippi; Bossier City, Louisiana; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Spokane, Washington; finally settling in Austin, Texas to finish their 20 years of military service.
Louise worked at several positions in her life including: Boeing Aircraft, Supervisor of Child Care at Anderson AFB in Guam, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas State Board of Insurance and The College Board. She made many lifelong friends while working and valued the friendships that she made as her greatest compensation.
Louise joined Koenig Lane Christian Church, Austin, Texas in 1958 and was an involved member throughout her life. Her fifty-five years of membership were filled with Christian fellowship and lifelong friendships.
Louise is preceded in death by her father Leon Edwards, mother Minnie Edwards and brother Bob Edwards.
Louise is survived by her children: Nancy Kenerly, Debbie Ruff and husband Rick Ruff, and Robert Moddrell. She had nine grandchildren: Robbie Smith, Dana Ruff, McClain Ruff, Clay Kennard, Lainey Holland, Brett Kennard, Noah Moddrell, Whitney Kenerly and Heydi Almenares. She had eight great-grandchildren: Charlie Smith, Chaz Smith, Caleb Kennard, Harper Holland, Kayleigh Kennard, Brodie Kennard, Koufax Dean and Nash Holland. Throughout her life Louise befriended many loved ones whom she considered to be a part of her family. Her life was also enriched with the love of numerous pets that she cared for throughout her life.
Honorary Pallbearers – Willie and Diana Jones, wonderful friends and neighbors who became family in their love and care for Louise.
Please celebrate the life and death of Louise who is at peace with her heavenly Father and her family and friends in heaven. As for us…we will miss her.
Viewing will be held at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin, Texas from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
Interment will be at Capital Memorial Park in Pflugerville, Texas at 9am on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.
