

Annabelle B. “Ann” Raines went home to be with her Lord on October 27, 2010. She was born on February 1, 1926 to Bernie Adkins Barker and William Cumberland Barker in West Virginia. She married Harold M. Raines, Sr., in Little Rock, Arkansas on December 31, 1953, with whom she had two sons. They moved to Austin, Texas in December 1962, where she supported numerous civic organizations in the city. She was a charter member of Austin Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in worship services. Her many interests included cooking, sewing, ceramics, and crafting porcelain dolls that were much admired by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her sisters, Carla Fields of Chesapeake, West Virginia and Gwen Mann of Lexington, Kentucky; her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Deneise Raines of Austin, Texas and Hal and Cindy Raines of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Sarah Raines, Joshua Raines, Johnathan Raines and his wife, Catherine; and two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ransom Raines; along with other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 29, 2010, beginning at 10 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road. Committal services will be private for Mrs. Raines’ family.
