Annie M. Ramsey

Annie Margaret Ramsey (Maw-Maw) went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at her home near Jonestown, Texas. She was born to Eugene and Ruth Cox in Floresville, Texas on October 28, 1913. She spent most of her adult life in La Ward, Texas and Port Lavaca, Texas and had lived at her present residence for over five years. Annie Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville B. Ramsey, Sr., daughter, Susanne Camp, sisters, Faye Dora Stark and Jean Cox and grandson, Steven L. Ramsey, Sr. She is survived by son, Orville B. Ramsey, Jr. of Jonestown; sisters, Opal Lawson of Corpus Christi, Renna Otto of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy Reynolds of Houston and Patricia Griffin of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jim Ramsey of Georgetown, Cindy Ramsey of Austin, Lois White of Rockport, Cathy Hahn and Chris Mulholland of California, Connie Churchill of Phoenix, AZ, James Ramsey of South Carolina, and Katherine Gushanas of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law, Rev. Brad Ramsey of Waco; sister-in-law, Lucille Livingston of Burnet; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Like the disciple John said about the works of Christ in John 21:25, “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.” Maw-Maw did so much good for so many. It would require volumes to record her deeds and influence. We who are left behind will truly miss her loving and caring spirit. Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church of Jonestown on Wednesday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Donahue and Rev. Brad Ramsey officiating. There will be a graveside service at Memory Gardens in Edna, Texas on Thursday, December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Frank Boldt and Rev. Brad Ramsey officiating.
