The Good Book Says
by Toni DeVane
To whom much is given
Much is required
But God, would you ease up a little
'Cause I really am tired!
I know you won't give me
More than I can stand
But sometimes I think
I need a helping hand.
To carry out the daily tasks
Whatever they may be
And try to live the kind of life
That would make You proud of me.
But, dear God, I do get weary and
Sometimes I make a mess
Even though I try my darndest
And do my very best.
To remember Your forgiving love
And hope I pass the test
Not to complain and do my tasks
And at last have eternal rest!
