Born October 24, 1940, Art grew up in Lakewood, Ohio as an imaginative and precocious child and young man. He attended Georgia Tech and earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma honor societies.
Art created several patented inventions and worked in the early days on developing electric typewriters, printers and computers during his lengthy career with IBM in Lexington, Kentucky, Boulder, Colorado and Austin, Texas.
Art attained his private pilot’s certificate and enjoyed an active lifestyle along with hobbies such as photography, HAM radio operation and his ability to MacGyver just about anything one could imagine – a consummate handyman.
Art was devoted to his family and provided a great life for us, with wonderful memories of family time and fun vacations, and imparting many practical life skills to his children. He laid the foundation for the successes the family enjoys today.
Art will be missed immeasurably and will always have a presence in our lives.
