Auguste Marie Dittmar Auguste Marie Dittmar died Saturday, February 26, 2005. She had just celebrated her 96th birthday on February 17th surrounded by family and friends. Born in Austin County, Texas, to Reverend Heinrich and Auguste Nohricke Kupfernagle, she attended St. Paul Lutheran School here in Austin as a child and was the oldest member. She is preceded in death by George J. Dittmar, whom she married in 1931, and son Glenn W. Dittmar. Survivors are a sister, Paula Kupfernagle, of San Antonio, children Shirley and spouse Fred Viehweg of Austin, David and spouse Diana Dittmar of Granite Shoals, Jo and spouse W.S. McGinnis of Charles Town, WV, Evelyn Dittmar, widow of Glenn, of Seguin, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Her story was featured in the book Writing Austins Lives, The Kupfernagels Come to Austin. Funeral services will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will occur at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on Tuesday evening prior from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
