A devoted wife, cherished mother, and loyal friend, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love.
Barbara was born on November 8, 1938 in Austin, ‘By God’, Texas. She was the first-born daughter of Frank and Marie Wright. From an early age, she carried a gentle spirit and a quiet determination that shaped the way she moved through the world. Ten years later her little sister, Elaine Dill, joined the happy home. She lived the first eighteen years of her life in the Rosedale area of Austin. She was a proud graduate of McCallum High School followed by Durham Business College. She married the love of her life, Robert Miller, on January 18, 1957. Barbara was the quintessential military wife and mother, building a home filled with laughter, warmth, and a deep sense of togetherness in every place they lived around the world. Starting in Austin, Texas; moving on to Fort Worth, Texas - having her first daughter, Jody Miller; next was Blytheville, Arkansas - giving birth to her second child Tracey Williamson. From there was Honolulu, Hawaii - having her son, Curtis Miller; on to Topeka, Kansas; Wrightsville, New Jersey; Madrid, Spain; and Montgomery, Alabama….and finally, back to Austin, ‘By God’, Texas.
Barbara’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children — Jody, Tracey, and Curtis — offering them not only guidance, but a model of compassion, resilience, and grace. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines, offering late night advice, or creating traditions that will be carried forward for generations, she made every moment meaningful. She took pride in her grandchildren, Wesley Williamson, Isabella and Adalena Miller, and great grandchild, Alexandria Williamson.
She found joy in her sorority sisters in Beta Sigma Phi, joining in 1977. They were a vital and integral part of the rest of her life. Family, friends and neighbors will remember her as someone who always made time to listen, to help, and her boundless love and unwavering devotion.
She was known for her laughter and generous heart. Her love was steady, her presence comforting, and her impact immeasurable. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
