

He attended Johnston High School. Ben continued his education at ACC in Austin Texas. Ben obtained his license and became a successful real estate agent. He was truly a business man and loved his work. Benjamin also loved fishing and spending time with his family at the beach. Ben will be remembered for his kindness and the tenaciousness that allowed him to achieve many things in life. His only hope was that he was a good husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was assured that he was more than good, he was great. Benjamin was truly a great man that we will all miss so much.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gumara Castelan.
He is survived by his beautiful and dear wife, Zenaida Castelan; sons, Benjamin, Jr., Guillermo and Javier; his princess, Flor Victoria; father, Zenon; brothers, Alfredo, Jose Luis, Senon, Jr., Ruben and Hector; sisters, Dora, Rafaela and Carmen; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Deacon Johnny Limon to officiate. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
Honoring Benjamin as pallbearers will be Benjamin Castelan, Jr., Guillermo Castelan, Javier Castelan, Senon Castelan, Jr., Ruben Castelan, Jose Luis Castelan, Hector Castelan and Alfred Castelan.
