Bertha Garcia

Our beloved Bertha "Birdie" Garcia, age 88, of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on August 30, 2024. She was born on April 8, 1936. Bertha is reunited with her parents Candelario and Anita Saucedo, her loving husband, Luis Garcia, beloved children, Linda Gomez, Rick Rodriguez, Danny Rodriguez, Louie Garcia, Patricia Garcia, grandsons Aaron Rodriguez, Steve Gomez, daughter in law Beth Garcia, sisters Belia Guerrero, Eustacia Rodriguez, brother Jesse Saucedo.

Bertha is survived and held in loving memory by her children Roy Rodriguez, Michael Garcia, Sandra Amaro (husband Edward); brother Charles Saucedo (wife Gloria); 24 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends.

After retirement from Austin Independent School District Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family especially attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's baseball games, trips to the casino with her cousins and family BBQ's spent cheering on the Longhorns.

Honored Pallbearers will be Chris Gomez, Renaldo Gomez, Johnathan Amaro, Louie Rene Garcia, Ronnie Saucedo, and Daniel Rivera. Honorary Pallbearers Mark Garcia and Jeff Garcia.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00pm on Monday, September 9th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 2620 S. Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10th at San Jose Catholic Church located at 2435 Oak Crest, Austin, TX 78704. Interment will follow Mass at Assumption Cemetery located at 3650 S. I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their prayers, visits, and support during this difficult time. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses of ICU St. David's South Austin, the special staff at West Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation and Vitas Healthcare.
