
Beth Northrup Beth Northrup, long time resident of Austin, Texas died August 13, 2004. She was born November 6, 1922 in Elgin, Texas to Fritz A. & Hattie Ginsel Schiller. After graduating from Elgin High School in 1940, she attended the University of Texas, receiving both a B.S. and M.A. degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, she moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she taught first grade for three years. She then moved to Austin and taught in the Austin Independent School District until retirement in 1983. She was a devoted member of the Highland Park Baptist Church and a long time member of the Elsie Foscue Sunday School Class. She generously gave of her time to a large number of volunteer and charitable organizations. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Northrup. Survivors include son Don Wheeler & wife Margaret of Austin, daughters Jan Brown of Marble Falls, Branch Northrup of Manor and Mary Jane Lavvorn of Atlanta, Georgia, grandsons Ty Wheeler of San Angelo and Brett Wheeler of San Antonio. A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church in Austin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2004.
