

Betty Ramos Karcher 86, a lifetime resident of Austin, passed away Christmas Eve. She suffered from Dementia for a few years before it took her to our heavenly father. She’s at peace with the Lord! For the past two years she resided at Sodalis Living Facility in South Austin. Our family would like to thank the staff for taking care of her and giving her life and joy.
Betty graduated Austin High in 1956 and later received an Associate's degree from ACC where she was also employed. In 1963, she married Julian Ramos Jr. and had three sons: Anthony Martin, Randy Michael and Julian “Jay” Ramos III. In 1977 she married Ronald J. Karcher. She was always dedicated to her sons, granddaughters (Taylor Elise, Mallory Hope, and Maleah Faith Ramos) and family. Betty loved sewing, ceramic cooking, fishing, holding hands, and many other activities. She loved attending St. Ignatius and San Jose Sunday services.
She was preceded in death by her sister Vicente "Bessie" Garcia. She is survived by her sister Virginia Coronado and family. Her sons Anthony Martin, Randy Michael, and Julian “Jay” Ramos III and granddaughters; the Garcia and Ramos family, and all of our family and cousins as well. She loved and was loved by her family and friends.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Weed-Corley-Fish South, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 10:00 am at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf, Austin, Texas. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
