Bobbie Jeanette Robinson Eppright’s love of life did not come to an end with her passing. Bobbie died peacefully in her sleep on August 23, 2021, at the age of 86 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives exemplified by her beautiful spirit.
She was baptized at Rising Star Baptist Church under the auspices of the Reverend A.K. Black and where she remained a member for several years.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her late husband, Kenneth R. Eppright, who passed away September 15, 2017; sisters, Corine Rice, Elizabeth Eppright, and Mary Musson; three brothers, Percy, Frank, and Vernon Robinson.
Bobbie was born December 17, 1934, to Willie and Elizabeth (Elliot) Robinson in Austin, Texas. She attended local Austin area schools and graduated from Anderson High School in 1952. After high school she attended college at Huston-Tillotson and Texas Southern Universities respectively. Her love of children was instrumental in her decision to become an elementary school instructor and eventually earn her graduate degree in teaching from University of La Vern.
In subsequent years she began teaching assignments in Texas, including Austin and Wharton. Later, she lived in the states of Georgia, Washington, and California where she taught school as a military wife while married to the late, Col. Cicero Wilkinson, Jr.
While residing in California, Bobbie became a graduate member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and Kappa Gama Omega of the Monterey Bay Chapter of the Links. After she retired from her teaching position in Marina, California, she returned to Austin.
Bobbie thoroughly enjoyed being home in Austin surrounded by family and friends. She never met a stranger and possessed an innate quality to help others in need. She loved meeting new people and selflessly committed herself to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the betterment of herself and others.
For as long as she could Bobbie continued to provide aid and comfort to others by volunteering in her community. She became a member of the board of directors at the Senior Activity Center, the Conley-Guerrero Senior Activity Center, and the East Austin Garden Club. She served as secretary within each of these organizations.
Shortly after returning to Austin Bobbie and her husband, Ken, became active members of Rising Star Baptist Church. In 2007, they joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where Bobbie was a faithful member of the Sarah Circle with primary duties of teacher and secretary.
In addition to being faithful and dutiful community church members, Bobbie and Ken held a deep love of the outdoors including fishing and crabbing. They also found great pride and pleasure in gardening together and grew everything from asparagus to zucchini. Bobbie made certain their garden was filled with an abundant and vibrant array of beautiful plants and flowers! She also loved canning the vegetables and fruits of their harvests. In addition, Bobbie is well known for her down home southern cooking. She loved baking her signature mouthwatering dinner rolls, her scrumptious peanut brittle was in hot demand among family members along with her delicious pies, cakes, and cookies.
Bobbie loved her family and friends more than words can explain and came into this world with a sole purpose to shine like a diamond in the heavens to give wholeheartedly of herself. She selflessly saw the good in those around her and graciously went the distance spread loving kindness. Her warm spirit, caring nature, infectious smile, sweet laughter, and sunny disposition served to remind everyone to love ourselves and each other. Her magnetic soul attracted people from all walks of life and even strangers were naturally drawn to her blessed spirit. Her heart was full of light and love of everything good. She was physically with us only for a moment it seems, but she left an indelible giant footprint on our hearts that will remain forevermore.
She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her: those who hold her fast are called happy. Proverbs 3:18

One of her favorite Bible verses:
Blessed is the man that does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and on this law, he meditates day and night. ~ Psalms 1-2
