Brenda Lee Deaton Brenda Lee Deaton (Bee, Aunt Boo, Brenda Lee) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 24 in Austin, Texas. Brenda was born July 22, 1962 to Joe and Alice Deaton in Center Texas. Brendas adult life existed in Lufkin Texas until the age of 25 where she later moved to Austin. The last twenty years of Brendas life was filled with love and joy from adopted family and numerous friends. Among the most important friend of all was her friend Jesus. Brenda exemplified what a true friend is and what a witness for Christ should be. At the door of achieving her greatest accomplishment, a bachelors degree from St. Edwards University, Brenda was nine credits short of achieving that goal when the Lord called her home. Brenda was not always about what accolades or the prestige but rather the humbling of the flesh to do Gods will. Brenda would have been celebrating her thirteenth year of employment with Texas Guaranteed Student Loans. Brenda loved her job because she felt she was providing a service that no one else could provide. She loved people and couldnt say no. Even in the last hours prior to her going to be with the Lord, she was still taking care of all her family and friends. Without a dry eye in the place that night we all sang Amazing Grace praying that the Lord would somehow show us that same mercy and grace when he calls us home. She is preceded in death by grandparents Rev. and Mrs. Roscoe Deaton of Lufkin, Mr. and Mrs. A.O. Turner of Kermit, father Joe Robert Deaton Sr., and nephew Michael Lynn Deaton. She is survived by her mother Alice Deaton, brother Lil Joe Deaton Jr. and wife Jo, sister Angie Colwell, all of Lufkin, and sister Lisa McCool of Keller. She is also survived by her nephews Michael (Formerly Army National Guard Reserves), Joey (Petty Officer 3rd class, U.S. Navy), Craig, Cody (SSgt, U.S. Air Force), Colin, niece Joni, godchild Abby, numerous great nephews, great nieces and one grandson. Brenda also leaves a devoted BFF and compassionate caregiver Kaybo. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Old Union Cemetery in Lufkin, Texas.
