

Brian Michael Collins was born on April 8, 1993 in Irving, Texas to Michael Thomas Collins and Ana Maria Villarreal of Austin, Texas. Brian walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 12, 2014 at the age of 21.
After his family moved to Austin in 1995, Brian attended Spicewood Elementary, Canyon Vista Middle School and graduated from Westwood High School in 2011. Brian attended Austin Community College and had hopes of a successful career in the future. He participated in many activities such as Cub Scouts, Canyon Vista and Westwood Football, and Town and Country Soccer, Basketball, and Lacrosse. Brian loved animals and adopted "Bitty" (Josie) his cat from the Town Lake Animal Shelter and later rescued and adopted two stray animals, another cat he named "Jack" and a few months later, his beloved dog "Ranger." A former employee of HEB, he was very artistic and loved drawing, painting, listening to music, and singing. He also enjoyed skateboarding, hiking, working out at the gym, taking long walks with his dog, and spending time with his family and friends. Brian loved telling funny stories and making people laugh.
Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gabriel Martinez Sr of Laredo, Texas. He is survived by his parents and step-parents, Ana Maria Villarreal (Jose Villarreal) of Austin; Michael Thomas Collins (Tracy Collins) of Austin; one brother, Steven Thomas Collins of Austin; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Helen Collins of Mishawaka, Indiana; maternal grandmother, Imelda Martinez of Laredo; step siblings, Robert Villarreal of San Antonio, David Villarreal of Seoul, South Korea, Paul Wolf of Austin, Amanda Wolf of Boulder, Colorado, and Thomas Wolf of Austin; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins living in Texas, Indiana, and California.
Brian had a very close connection with his family and had many friends who love and care about him. Brian's beautiful soul and caring heart left a deep lasting impression on those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Brian's name
to the Austin Animal Shelter
