Carol Lena Wilson was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Temple, Texas to the late Calvin B. Yarbrough and Lura A. Yarbrough. She died Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at her residence in Austin. A proud US Army veteran, she was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 76, the Disabled American Veterans and NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees. A former police officer in Boulder, CO, she retired from the US Postal Service and most recently became certified by the US Homeland Security Dept in civilian disaster preparedness. She is survived by her son, Dennis Wilson of Houston. A memorial service in her honor will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, Aug. 1 in the chapel of Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home South. Interment service will follow at 10:00 am on Friday, Aug. 7 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
