Carole R. Murchison

Carole Rains Murchison reached the end of a long life, peacefully in her sleep, on Thursday June 23, 2016. She was a beloved wife and mother. Carole was born on September 3, 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Rains in Waco, Texas. She lived most of her life in Austin, Texas and was a graduate of Austin High in 1951. Along with her husband of 41 years, the late John C. Murchison, she adopted two boys, David and Darryl, loving and supporting them as much as it is possible for a mother to do. Carole was especially close to her niece, Carole Anne Womack. She has one daughter-in-law, Lea Suzan, and one grandson, Alexander. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Joy Moore and Sam 'Bud' Rains. Carole received excellent care from the staff at Park Bend Health Center during her final months and her family are very grateful.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 27, 6-8 PM, at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Rd., A graveside service will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, June 28 at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
