Our loving Mother entered into eternal peace at her home in Austin, Texas on November 26, 2007, surrounded by family. She was born at her parents home on December 16, 1916 in Taylor, Texas. She attended Taylor High School, and as editor of the Cotton Boll was named best Class B high school editor in the state. After graduation she enrolled in what is now known as Texas Womens University and was elected president of the Freshman class. Throughout the years, Mother had many interests including reading, continuing education courses, collecting antiques, and a love of gardening. Wherever she lived, she made her home and gardens places for peaceful retreat. A new work career at First Federal Savings and Loan Association began in 1957 when she was hired by Mr. A.B. Shierlow, founder (1934), president and member of the board of directors. Mother worked in various capacities until Mr. Shierlow promoted her to be his personal secretary. She served him until his death at which time she became Mr. John T. Mahones personal secretary as he succeeded Mr. Shierlow as president of the Association. We have been told that she was a gracious presence and all who knew her, loved and admired her. She retired in 1981. In 1984 she married Jack Corley and had a wonderful life with him. Mother was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Corley; parents, Henry Eichholt, Sr. and Bess Warren Eichholt; sister, Bess Talley; brothers, Henry Eichholt, Jr., Warren Eichholt and Lewis Eichholt, Sr., and many dear friends. Survivors include: daughters, Bess Hamilton, Maryann and husband Stephen J. Pyle, III; granddaughters, Christine Duran, Kimberley, Amy and Jennifer Pyle; three great-granddaughters; four great-great-grandchildren; and other dear relatives. We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to the Nelson and Fish families for their friendship and love extended to Mother. The family is thankful for the superb help and care given our Mother by Angel Heart Hospice and many caregiver assistants. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November, 29th at 2 pm in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel with a reception afterwards. A private interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. In Mothers memory, memorial contributions may be given to the Fisher Center for Alzheimers Research Foundation, 1-800-259-4636; Angel Heart Hospice, 512-342-8288; or to a charity of your choice.
