Catharine "Bunny" Longenecker

Bunny was born March 8, 1934 to Archie N. Jones and Rosalie Cartier Jones in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School and went on to receive a degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Bunny was the consummate musician. She taught privately as well as in the public schools for many years, and passed her deep love of music to her daughters and grandchildren. Bunny was a member of University United Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for almost 50 years. She was an active member in her PEO chapter for many years. Before retiring, Bunny worked as church secretary at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd for 10 years. "Grandma Bunny" said that her grandchildren were "the cream in her coffee".

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Longenecker, and is survived by daughter Luanne Gytri (John); grandchildren Catharine Klein (Andrew), Caroline Ahls, Donald Gytri, Julia Gytri; brother Archie Jones (Beth Turner); sister Betsy Moers (Allen Ray); as well as several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 11th at 3:00 pm. at University United Methodist Church, 2409 Guadalupe St.
