

Celeste Susan Neuvar Stark, 54, died peacefully from a long battle with breast cancer on October 4, 2008. Celeste was born in Victoria, Texas on April 11, 1954 to her parents, Allan and Wanda Neuvar. Her family moved to Austin in 1960 where she attended St. Austin's Catholic School, Austin High School, and the University of Texas. Celeste began her many years of volunteer service at Seton Hospital as a candy striper in the 1960's and later served on the Seton Medical Auxiliary in the 1970's and '80's. During the '80's and 90's, Celeste held numerous volunteer placements with the Junior League of Austin including Treasurer and A Christmas Affair Chair in 1992. She was employed by The Seton Fund and was the Development Director for the Helping Hand Home for Children and St. Michael's Academy. Celeste married Morris Ernest Stark in May 1974 at St. Austin's Catholic Church. Celeste loved gardening, garage sales, and knitting. Her favorite past time though, was watching her sons, Holden and Zachary, play baseball. She is preceded in her death by her father, Allan Rudolph Neuvar. She is survived by her husband Morris Stark, her oldest son Holden Stark and wife Sheri Stark, and younger son Zachary Stark, as well as, her mother Wanda Johnson Neuvar and grandmother Hazel Johnson Rudolph. Celeste is also survived by her two sisters; Camille Goodman and her husband Chuck Goodman and their children Seth and Eliot, as well as Carrie Brown and her husband Lamar Brown and their children Sarah and Travis, all of Austin. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lynn Stark Cutrer of Houston, and the many aunts, uncles, and cousins from Alabama and Texas. Very special thanks to Dr. Dudley Youman and the nurses at Southwest Regional Cancer Center for their care over the past 6 years. Additional thanks to Dr. Charles Livingston, Dr. Jack Seaquist, and Dr. Shannon Cox for their special care to Celeste during her illness. A rosary will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway, 1718 Lohman's Crossing, on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Samuel Hose of Emmaus and Rev. James McDonough of Queen of Angels Chapel officiating the mass. A reception will be held after the mass at the church. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Lamar Brown, Jeff Atherton, James Jenkins and nephews Eliot Goodman, Seth Goodman, Robert Cutrer, and Richard Cutrer.
