Charlie was born December 6, 1965 to Charlie and Mary Bocanegra and passed to be with the Lord on April 22, 2021.
He got his nickname, Chuckie from his grandmother, Irene Ayotte and that would stay with him all his life. At an early age Chuck was at the Boys Club on Johanna Street playing sports but his love for dancing was his passion and also the Dallas Cowboys. Wherever he would dance people would stop and watch him. He brought breakdancing to Austin in the early 80's he was joined with his partner Eric Castillo together they were "cbs" can’t be stopped. He dance in a contest with over 300 contestants and was in the finals at halftime in the astrodome of a Houston Gamblers USFL game, where he won it all!! Grand prize was $500.00 dollars and a trip to New York to dance with the famous New York City breakers in Roxy Theatre. Chuckie’s best friends were Eric Castillo, Ruben Candelas, the Nick and Ralph Vega, Daniel and Freddy Longoria, Pat, Paul and Eric Verver, and many many more who we will never know how he impacted their life with his passion for breakdancing. Charlie is preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Montoya.
Charlie is survived by his mother, Mary Martinez; his two children, Crystal and Carlos; two grandsons, Elijah and Angel; his brother, Roy; two sisters, Julie and Angela.
