Charles "Chaz" Chapot

Chaz was a retired Project Manager for home builders here in Austin for over 38 years. Many of the homes he built are hosts to his unique hand-carved designs.

He was born in Clifton New Jersey to Charles and Lois Chapot, September 7, 1947. Upon graduation in 1965 Uncle Sam called for his service and he joined the Air Force. Upon discharge Chaz found his way across the United States and settled in Texas. He met his wife years later and they have made Austin their home since 1979. He was a former member of Central Texas Wood Carver’s Association (CTWA).

Chaz always said the best day of his life was when their son, Charles, was born.

Chaz is survived by his wife, Katherine, his mother, Lois Wisdom, his son, Major Charles R. Chapot, USAF and wife Jennifer, and 2 grandchildren, Aubrey and Charles Chapot, 2 sisters, Barbara Lydell and her husband, Mike, Arlene Austin, all from Phoenix, AZ, his brother, John Chapot of Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held September 23, 2018 3:30 P.M., at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 W. William Cannon Drive with a reception following.
