Charles Ellsworth Clinger, aged 92, passed away on March 20, 2023 at his home in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lynn Clinger. He is survived by his four children, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and brother-in-law, Bob Richardson. His life was spent in service to his family, his country, and his God. Charles was a veteran of the Korean War, a proud graduate of Texas A&M, and worked for 40 years in state government service, including 37 years with the Texas Highway Department. He became an accomplished genealogist researching and developing records for 11 different family trees. Charles also served in multiple leadership roles in the Christian Church and in his community.
Services will take place Saturday March 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, located at 2620 S. Congress Ave., Austin, TX 78704. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, TX 78731.
Mr. Clinger requests that attire be casual and suitable for the weather.
